Two Taiwanese Science Park have signed a memorandum of understanding with Government of Karnataka to promote bilateral exchanges in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics. The deal would see a collaboration between Hsinchu Science Park and Central Taiwan Science Park of Taiwan and Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS).
An MoU which was signed by Wayne Wang, Director-General of Hsinchu Science Park; Chen Ming-huang, Director-General, Central Taiwan Science Park and Shri K. Nagaraja, CEO of the Center for eGovernance of the Karnataka government. It is aimed at boosting developments in the area of AI, information technology and robotics in both the countries.
With the collaboration, Taiwan aims to promote bilateral exchanges between academics and entrepreneurs of the two countries, and facilitate mutual exchange of faculty from identified academic institutes to learn new technologies and industry’s best practices. It also aims at helping Taiwanese firms tap the growing Indian market and create business opportunities, especially in IT and robotics.
The MoU would also help the two countries to institutionalise the industrial collaboration mechanism thereby helping to enhance closer ties in the field of industry, investment and technical cooperation in a mutually beneficial basis.
“The agreement will be mutually beneficial to both Karnataka and Taiwan as it will enhance skill development, mutual industry facilitation and encourage startups and MSMEs,” Principal Secretary, IT/BT and ST Department, Gaurav Gupta said in a statement.
Chung-Kwang was quoted as saying that this deal would help science parks in Taiwan and KITS to strengthen relations in biotechnology, information technology and other emerging technologies.

Recently, India had collaborated with South Korea on artificial intelligence to establish research and innovation center. They had signed 5 MoUs in the area of new tech. According to a statement released, the top bureaucrats have decided to establish an Indo-Korean Center for Research and Innovation (IKCRI) in India which will act as the hub for systematic operation and management of all cooperative programmes in research and innovation between the two countries including innovation, entrepreneurship and technology transfer.
