Not very long after Apple launched its iPhone 7 with machine learning features, it is now the turn of Google to show its prowess in artificial learning capabilities. Loaded with AI acumen, Google has launched its much awaited and ambitious project- Pixel. With Pixel and Pixel XL, which would replace the currently available Nexus, Google has done some major tweaking with its phones, let’s read on in detail.

To begin with, Pixel apparently is the first phone with a built in Google assistant that works as an intelligent personal assistant and knowledge navigator. Google’s conversational AI helper is much similar to Apple’s Siri or Microsoft’s Cortana and assists you in a plethora of work such as suggesting weather conditions, giving directions, booking reservations in your favourite restaurant, look up photos and do much more. The range of work that it can do is based on its machine learning capabilities which helps it learn from the user’s past behaviour.

With a touch and holding on to Home button or by saying “Ok Google”, the Assistant is ready to help you.

What’s unique about the Google Assistant?

Though it isn’t a totally novice idea, Google intends on making the technology a lot better to an extent that voice-based artificial intelligence becomes a much bigger part of how people interact with their smartphones. Its capability to operate within “personal Google” that understands the context unique to an individual makes it stand out. It can pick up your personal preferences from your favourite store to listing music in your preferred player than others, which is a great feature!

Launched with the newest Android operating system, Android 7.1 Nougat, Pixel features a built-in 24/7 customer support system. That’s not all, it also offers help with what’s on-screen on any app. For instance, if your friend texts to meet at a new restaurant, Pixel can take you there, all you have to do is say ‘navigate there’!

Along with an alluring AI feature, Pixel comes with Google Photos built-in and relies on cloud. It would mean that you never run out of storage for photos and videos even of highest quality. Additionally, it would have the company’s video chat service, Google Duo and is Daydream-ready, meaning it is built for virtual reality with high-resolution displays, ultra smooth graphics and high-fidelity sensors for precise head tracking. The device also has Pixel Imprint- the fingerprint scanner for quick access to apps, texts and email.

In a nutshell, Google Pixel offers you the best of Google’s software and hardware in other products like Google Wi-Fi to offer modular and customisable home networking, Virtual-Reality headset Daydream View, new Google Chromecast named the Chromecast Ultra that offers 4K and HDR streaming support and AI-powered voice-assistant Google Home.
