Growth and Acquisitions: Case of Fractal Analytics

Founded in 2000, Fractal Analytics is steadily becoming one of the leading global provider of advanced analytics. The company has not only earned recognition by industry analysts, but has also been named one of the top five “Cool Vendors in Analytics” by research advisor Gartner.

Many Fortune 500 companies, owe their competitive advantage to this 15-year-old firm; as it strives to furnish the precise data required to bridge the gap between consumers and decision-makers. Staffing 850 people in 13 offices around the world, it delivers the best insights and innovation besides creating an impact through its’ predictive analytics and visual storytelling.

On 29th October 2015, Fractal announced the acquisition of Imagna Analytics, an artificial intelligence (AI) startup founded by Prashant Warier. Imagna Analytics had created a personalized targeting platform that decoded customer behavior and delivered contextually relevant offers in real-time.

Consequently, Prashant has joined Fractal as Chief Data Scientist and said “I am excited to rejoin Fractal to lead the development of next generation AI solutions at scale, a field I am deeply passionate about”. He is an accomplished AI researcher and has authored several papers and patents in AI and related fields. Furthermore, he holds a doctorate in operations research from Georgia Institute of Technology and a bachelor’s degree from IIT Delhi.

Fractal is pleased to have him aboard as Srikanth Velamakanni, co-founder and CEO, Fractal Analytics welcomed him with these words, “AI is fundamentally changing the way analytics is produced and consumed and I am delighted to have Prashant lead our business and clients in this emerging area”.

This is Fractal’s second acquisition this year and will escalate Fractal’s IP in the area of Customer Genomics®. Earlier this year, Fractal Analytics had acquired Mobius Innovations to strengthen the company’s Customer Genomics® solution for hyper-personalized marketing. Customer Genomics integrates enterprise, geo-location and open social media data to deliver personalized and contextual offers in real-time on mobile devices. Other products from Fractal portfolio include TrialRun for systematic marketing experimentation at scale and Concordia® to harmonize disparate data sources.
