In weekly our column ‘A Day In The Life Of’, we try to step into the shoes of the awesome techies from various organisations who are working in emerging tech areas like big data, data analytics, artificial intelligence and the internet of things, among others.
This week Analytics India Magazine decided to talk to Rajiv Singh, Analytics & Modelling Practice Lead, BFSI – Centre of Excellence at Bahwan CyberTek Ltd. about his life as a dedicated techie who loves singing, sketching and building a robust data integration and reporting system.
Singh, who works with risk-based Intellectual properties, says that the key to a good day begins in the morning, with a smile and a steaming cup of chai early in the morning. He is a father of one and is also interested in yoga and sports.
When asked about his work-life balance, Singh says cheerfully, “During my earlier employment, my work did end up affecting my personal life. However, In BCT, the work-life balance is perfect so far.”
Singh describes his work saying, “My work includes understanding the need of the hour to deal with rising credit risk and regulatory requirements and work with the team to transform the need into risk-based Intellectual properties. This also requires dealing with various internal and external stakeholders.”
Being a data scientist, he also gets involved at different levels, including dealing with tons of data and massive databases, data integration. “I also programme them in analytical engines and give them a visual feel for strategic decision making. At BCT, it’s also important to convert the ideas into a business requirement, present it to various stakeholders and once we get the management buy-in, transform the idea into working solutions. With the help UI/UX, software development and testing teams,” he adds.
