Taking the competitive smartphones market to the next level, Huawei is set to launch its own an Artificially Intelligent (AI) processors.
Reported to be a combination of CPU (central processing unit), GPU (graphics processing unit) and AI functions, the Chinese technology giant has said that smart assistants will only be a small part of the picture.
Move over, Siri, Alexa, Google Assistant.
Through a small teaser shared on Twitter from their official handle, Huawei has now revealed that the launch date for the AI-based processor would be September 2, 2017, at the IFA technology trade show in Berlin. Incidentally, Huawei CEO Richard Yu is going to give a talk on the subject: On device intelligence: Mobile AI is on the way.

Huawei has become more and more ambitious with respect to their AI inventions off late. They had earlier gone on record to say that they would have an AI-focused ‘Superphone’ by the year 2020 .
The Chinese tech giant has already achieved the position of the third largest-selling mobile phone maker since last year — lagging only behind Samsung and Apple.
Despite their ambitions (and caution) the company has firmly refused to reveal any further information about the ‘Superphone’.
“Innovation is a marathon… So each year, we dedicate at least 10 percent of our sales revenue to research and development,” Shao Yang, president of strategy marketing at Huawei’s consumer business group, told Forbes. Over the last 10 years they have reportedly invested more than $38 billion for the same.
