Cybersecurity firm WISeKey International Holding Ltd. recently made two significant announcements. The first announcement made by the global organization was to launch an Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Blockchain Centre of Excellence in India to support its global projects. The firm’s second announcement stressed on the appointment of Bikramaditya Singhal as head of the AI and Blockchain practice in India. WISeKey India was established in late 2016 to deploy IoT and cybersecurity platform to the Indian Market.
A researcher, trainer, and consultant with over eight years of industry related experience, Singhal has worked extensively on Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI for many years. Before WISeKey India, Singhal has worked at Microsoft, Broadridge, Tech Mahindra, and Chelsio Communications. He graduated from Eastern Academy of Science & Technology in Bhubaneswar with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. Besides, he co-founded Mund Consulting, a company that focused on Big Data analytics and AI.
Singhal authored the book “Spark for Data Science,” which focuses on the integration of data science algorithms and techniques with the fast and scalable computing features of Spark, to address big data challenges. Besides, he is also working on another book about on Blockchain analysis by providing in-depth technical understanding of how Blockchain works. The book will help anybody to jump-start their Blockchain initiative.
The Indian division will work towards expanding the reach of WISeKey AI project WISeAI. The project will integrate the WISeKey Indian Root of Trust and IoT embedded devices with problem-solving AI solution into WISeKey’s Vertical Platform. With WISeKey Vertical Platform, IoT devices can organize themselves into trusted networks based on mutual authentication, identity, and integrity. Moreover, the trusted cybersecurity platform will only enable IoT devices which can provide a recognized identity and a valid integrity report to communicate with peer devices, which are part of the trusted community.
Current IoT data rarely provide value for their manufacturers, they must be converted into actionable, contextualized information generated by IoT sensors fully identifiable. Moreover, most of the IoT devices aren’t built with embedded secured systems, and are thus very vulnerable. However, adding AI at the chip level together with the WISeKey RoT will allow the IoT to provide authenticated sensor data. Object can develop their own cybersecurity behaviour, thus making smarter and safer decisions with integration of AI.
